Greenings is a quiet English village, its life revolving round the Church, the big house, and Mrs Alexander's general shop. All seems peaceful until a man drunkenly drowns in the watersplash beside some stepping stones. This is a classic whodunnit featuring Patricia Wentworth's recurring character Miss Silver. Is the man's death truly an accident, and what about a mysterious missing heir and a hypothetical will?

This is a 1959 classic green Penguin triband edition.
