John Bunyan wrote the first part of The Pilgrim's Progress when he was in prison as a Baptist preacher. It is a seventeenth century religious allegory and a symbolic vision of the good man's pilgrimage through life. This is a Penguin English Library 1965 edition, edited by Robert Sharrock.
