In this novel by Iris Murdoch a group of people are caught by the spell of the enigmatic Mischa Fox - the enchanter.  It is set against the background of post WW2 London, with themes of immigration and women's liberation. This is a 1964 Penguin reprint. The price reflects the fact that this edition is a little more worn that the Pigeon would normally like - with some creasing on the cover and a tiny corner torn from the back cover.
