This classic comic novel, written by brothers George and Weedon Grossmith, was serialised in Punch magazine in the 1880s. It was first published in book form in 1892 and follows the daily events and misshaps in the life of Charles Pooter, a London clerk who has social aspirations above his lower-middle class station in life. 

This 1979 Penguin Modern Classics edition features humorous illustrations by Weedon Grossmith.  It comes curated with three surprise vintage treats, and everything will be beautifully gift-wrapped.
