Jo leaves home to become a governess and marriage is on the cards for Amy. We follow the long illness of Beth and Jo's struggles and successes with writing. First published in 1869, this wonderful novel by Louisa M. Alcott was republished by Peacock books in 1971 and features a cover design by Shirley Hughes.
